Due to substantial changes in diesel fuel prices recently, the following fuel surcharge is instituted based on the schedule below: All costs are based on the U.S. Average of the D.O.E. Weekly Retail On-Highway Diesel Prices Index. The base fuel price is $1.149. The Surcharge amount will be +/- 1% for each $.05 change in the national average price. You may check the current fuel index cost by calling the Department of Energy's hotline at (202) 586-6966 after 4:00 p.m. each Monday. The Surcharge will be effective on the Tuesday following the release of the Monday average. The Surcharge will remain effective until such time as both parties mutually agree to cancel in writing. This replaces all fuel surcharge items in effect prior to this change.
